What does level 4 Lockdown mean for Cash Converters

In his announcement last week, President Ramaphosa painted a picture on how the country would shift from Level 5 to Level 4 of the corona virus (COVID-19) lockdown as of 1 May 2020.

Some companies will be allowed to re-open but will do so under specific conditions. Furthermore, they will have to adhere to detailed health and safety precautions to protect their staff. In addition to this, plans in the workplace will be put in place to prevent the spread of infection and monitor the spread of the virus.

“All businesses that are permitted to resume operations will be required to do so in a phased manner, first preparing the workplace for a return to operations, followed by the return of the workforce in batches of no more than one-third. In some cases, a sector will not be able to return to full production during Level 4 while the risk of infection remains high,” Ramaphosa said.

Here’s what it means for Cash Converters stores:

Level 4 means all Cash Converters stores are allowed to re-open their doors on May 2, 2020, to buy and sell limited second-hand household items.

How are we keeping you safe?

It goes without saying that the safety of our customers and staff remains our top priority during this time. As such, all the government-mandated regulations will be strictly adhered to. For example, every person in the store is required to wear a protective mask and maintain 1.5 metre physical distancing queues. In addition, hand sanitisers will be available throughout the store and on entry, contactless card transactions are encouraged, limited cash is permitted, and the number of customers allowed in any area of the store at any time will be limited.

Our store trading hours may differ from one store to the other depending on the landlord’s regulations. Please be sure to call a store before you visit. You can find all these details here.
